History

Other Notable Residents

Other notable residents who lived in the homes in the Maple Court subdivision include Michael Long, vice president for Ensign Bickford Industries, attorney, and member of the board of selectman for the Town of Simsbury and David C. Balboni, former retired vice president for Ensign Bickford Industries and former member of the Simsbury Economic Development Commission.

Mr. Long and family first rented their home in Maple Court from the company during the early 1970's. They later purchased it from the company in 1977 and lived in it throughout the early 1980's before building another home in town. Mr. Long served on the Association's first board of directors and served as its President for several years.

Mr. Balboni rented number 7 Maple Court with his young family during the 1950's. He later bought the property for his newly married son and wife. Unfortunately in a tragic accident, his son and daughter-in-law died in a fatal car crash on icy roads during a storm. He kept the property as an investment and rented it out for another 20 or so years.
