Maple Court is a former Ensign-Bickford Company neighborhood with homes built during the turn of the century. It is situated on a narrow private road off West Street across from a three hundred year old saw and grist mill in the center district of Simsbury, Connecticut — one of the "top 100 Best Places to Live" according to Money Magazine (August 2009 issue) and on the National Trust for Historic Preservation's list of 2010 Dozen Distinctive Destinations. Nestled among large maple trees on a cul-de-sac, the peaceful and private neighborhood is abutted by Old Mill Lane and its condominium town homes to the north, a large queen anne style mansion turned commerical property to the east, West Street to the south, and Ensign Pond to the West. Maple Court is just minutes from the quintessential New England charm of Simsbury town center. Steeped in history as one of Connecticut's oldest communities and surrounded by natural beauty, Simsbury has a traditional New England atmosphere in a bucolic setting of rolling hills, stately Pinchot sycamores, and the picturesque Farmington River.

Although the smallest of the former Ensign-Bickford Company neighborhoods, Maple Court contains some of the largest homes that the company constructed for employee housing. The neighborhood’s ten colonial style homes housed predominantly foreman and managers of the company initially and had a mix of office and factory workers. Several homes have ornate wood moldings and trim on the first floor which are uncharacteristic of most EB Co. homes built elsewhere in Simsbury and Avon during the early 1900s. These three bedroom homes were built, serviced, upgraded and maintained by the company for over 70 years before they were sold to private homeowners, initially former tenants and EB employees, in the late-1970s. To protect property values and maintain the common areas, garages and private road, a homeowner’s association was formed and incorporated in 1977. Many of the well maintained and beautifully landscaped properties, some of which are close to or exceed 100 years old, offer water views of either Ensign Pond or Grist Mill Pond in a setting conducive to starting and raising a family or enjoying retirement.

Located just 20 minutes northwest of Hartford and 20 minutes southwest of Bradley International Airport by car in the heart of the New York-Boston corridor, Maple Court is within walking distance to historic Simsbury Center and main street with its quaint shops, restaurants and businesses, the high school, public library, two Farmington Valley Greenway bike paths, the scenic Farmington River, a rare 19th century iron bridge that blooms with colorful plantings, the Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center, and Stratton Brook State Park.
